Being Local, Means Participate in Great Local Causes

Being local means, we take great pride in participating and giving back to our local community. The annual Do Dat BBQ Cookoff is one of our favorites with the proceeds going to the great work of the Nacogdoches Area United Way!
The Nacogdoches Area United Way (NAUW) is a volunteer organization that supports and funds programs that address three essential impact areas; health and well-being, education, and financial stability. The organization is guided by a thirty-member Board of Directors who establish policies and procedures designed to carry out the mission and vision of the organization. NAUW serves Nacogdoches, Shelby, and San Augustine Counties. United Way Worldwide is the franchisee for over 1,800 United Ways in forty different countries.
There are typically 30 or so teams cooking up BBQ to serving samples to guests! There is a family-friendly fun atmosphere with many vendors selling refreshments and other goods!
The history of the Do-Dat BBQ in Nacogdoches goes back more than twenty years. Countless memories of friendly competition and family fun have been made on the midway of the Nacogdoches County Exposition Center.
One of the most interesting parts of living in Texas is that everyone cooks BBQ. Texans also know that they have the best BBQ around, and it's better than yours.
