Helping Our Flooded Neighbors in Louisiana
The state of Louisiana continues to deal with a significant level of flooding and one of the worst natural disasters in recent years.
With rainfall totals in the double digits — NASA's Global Precipitation Measurement mission estimated more than 20 inches (508 millimeters) of rainfall in large areas of southeastern Louisiana — rivers were rapidly rising, causing serious flooding.
At least six rivers in Louisiana have hit record levels since the rainfall event began. The most extreme flooding has occurred along the Amite River, which exceeded its previous height record in Magnolia, Louisiana, by more than 6 feet (1.8 meters).
SERVPRO of Lufkin/Nacogdoches County traveled to Denham Springs,Louisiana to aid in disaster recovery efforts for many residential areas. The devastation is tremendous but the resolve of Louisiana residents is strong. We are humbled and honored to be allowed to help our neighbors in their time of need.
